Bit of a challenge since we can't go bush. Where is this photo (winner gets to go next).

Name the mountain across the way and maybe the saddle behind us.
Well, I can see a major track, probably not Great Walk standard but I reckon it must be well-known. The hills and bush remind me of the Craigieburn (but probably similar to many other locations).
I can't make it fit the topo but I'll just stab at Cass Saddle being behind you.
Does look like Cragieburn. With southern Nelson Lakes a vague second.

The track seen is popular for mtn bikes.
Whilst i would say the average person visiting here does not get on that mountain, the scree would be a helter skelter of a ride.
The saddle behind us has easier access from the other side.
Yeah, I looked at a few mtb trails and I did see the 'helter skelter' clue attached to your uploaded photo but didn't get anywhere with it.
Revisiting the clues, there *is* a Helter Skelter mtb track (decommissioned) near Auckland - the only hill in the area is Pukekawa.
This is purely from the clues - doesn't look like the right vegetation or terrain.
Aaah, got it (I think) - Mt Manson :) It *is* the Craigieburn ! You're a hard task-master, aardvark !
