Handy sounding spot for a hunt somewhere just behind you, if I'm not mistaken.

Correct waynowski - your turn, maybe you can represent the NI a bit better. Side note, that picture taken before a perishingly cold night camped at the tarn just below the peak. @madpom yep, did happen to see a few animals around on that trip as well.

Valiant and Rover but couldn't find a Humber, supersnipe ! (sorry, couldn't resist). And as to hunting, I'm all thumbs (well, two at least).

Hmm. Tough one for me Wayno. I'm guessing Kahurangi, but only because I can't think of anywhere else it could be. Beech only - so SI and prob not west coast. Bush on near vertical faces - not too far east or dry. Is that a limestone peak top centre ...? But that layered (so sedimentary?) brown rock sheer face opposite you has me stumped. My thinking ... but any of it could be wrong

The Paparoas, perhaps looking NE from spot 1104 (Moonlight Tops hut) on the Pike29 (old Croesus-Moonlight track) Great Walk. You would walk along across the top of those bluffs on day 2. ZPike River Mine is on the other side of the bluffs.
