A tramper since very young I stopped for a number of years as life commitments were pressing. The kids leaving home and a very understanding wife mean I can get out and about again. Currently walking with my now retired brother and often solo I have made my way through North Island Weekend Tramps and am now walking the main ranges and forest parks of the North Island for between 2 and 3 days each month. The preference at this point is for a mixture of bush and tops. Mountain climbing and snow caves in a storm where done 40 years ago and don't hold the same attraction. Employed by Tristam European and living on Auckland' s North Shore.
