Whats everyone got planned?

I know that we have had this type of thread before but I figure seen as there isnt much happening on this website at the moment I just thought I would ask what everyone is up to, Have ya got anything planned for the weekend or training ya self up for a big tramp during the summer? Just thought I would see what everyones up to, its good to read about other peoples tramping trips plus it also gives ya a few ideas for tramping trips of your own.

hey all, am wondering what the track is like between howletts hut and longview hut in the ruahines, have been to longview and daphne from the roadends but am looking at doing a bit of a circuit in may when i have some time off, just wanting to know how well marked the track is and times etc, cheers
Check out Izogi's blog - he's been everywhere Ruahine. And I think the below link is similar to what you want to do: http://www.windy.gen.nz/index.php/archives/235
I went from Howletts across to Longview and it took me around 5 hours, im not a fast walker though. Its poled a lot of the way and isnt to bad overall but the saddle an hour or so from Howletts wouldnt be much fun in a gale as theres quite a drop on the eastern side.A great trip in the right conditions(as i had)and a big percentage of the Ruahines can be seen,if youre into hunting theres a lot of deer in the area.
A short stumble to Crosbies hut tomorrow before the surgeon cleans my knees out next week.
Hi bigpaul which track are u taking up crosbies mite head up there next week and be good to know which track most interesting and times - hope u have good one - cheers
Went in from Waiomu road on the Thames side through the Kauri forest. Very pleasant regenerative trees with a couple of big examples as you climb the ridge. 4 hours from the road end the ridge climb takes about 2.5 hours. Great views from the hut i wish i had stayed the night now instead of making it a day trip you would see the lights of Whitianga and Auckland on a clear night. A very state of the art hut!!!
Got s club trip going into Casino Biv early next month, then talking about a trip into the Ruahines with fruitbat at Queens Birthday.
went for a bit of a tramp in the rain up to pouakai hut and back today, the track was like walking up a river but was good fun and a good wet weather alternative on days like today!
We would like to get a tops trips done in the Hoki - Whitcombe before the heavy snowfalls come. (You usually have until May, sometimes as late as the third week) It won't be this coming week as my mate is working. Perhaps the following week weather permitting? We missed one recent opportunity as he had the flu. Another trip I would like to do is to check out the newly shifted & upgraded Top Crawford hut.
Staying local again this time out. Starting a 12 day traverse of the Scenic Rim this coming sunday. The scenic Rim is an old volcanic crater rim in SE Qld taking in the Great Dividing Range and the McPherson Ranges which follows the state border to the Gold Coast. This forms an arc around Brisbane appx an hour ot two's drive away. It's our third time around and made a little easier this time with food and clothing caches every few days. It is not an established trail and requires navigation over more than 40 mtns, some untracked and heavily rainforested with many cliff breaks. Finishing with a night in 5 star accom on the Gold Coast.
