Camera Gear

Are you like me and always overweight on cameras. Here's one solution. http://www.naneubags.com/products-by-series/adventure/k5 Seems like some thought has gone into it. However with all the zips, pockets and nooks and crannies it seems to have one might be questioning how it would cope with some of our weather. Interesting concept for those like myself who nearly always have an overabundance of camera gear with them.
It looks interesting although I'm not enough of a photographer to appreciate it properly. I'm still keen to hear what any users think about Aarn's offering from Christchurch, with dedicated SLR camera balance pocket design. I've just checked and it looks as if they now have two dedicated balance pocket designs for camera carrying at http://www.aarnpacks.com/products/balance_pockets.html . From the video it looks as if this Naneu offering also has an option to mount the camera module on the front, though not as a main thing and perhaps not with the same extent of balance design.
Do these only clip onto Aarn packs?
That's what they're designed for, I think. They're camera variants of the regular Aarn balance pockets as part of the entire Aarn balance system thing.
Ah thanks.
they weigh more than my camera! slr's are over kill these days unless you're a professional. theres far more compact cameras that can do the same job as the low end slr's mirroless cameras. smaller lighter, still take high quality photos, I ditched my SLR in favour of a smaller one.
Wow. That Naneu pack weighs 4.43kg. It's definitely on the heavy side in exchange for all that big camera-friendly box they push into it. My intent with the Aarn link was just to note it's available for consideration if someone's actually looking for a completely new pack with a design towards holding and accessing a big grunty camera. (Not me, thanks very much!)
not made for people walking long distances... made to withstand airport baggage handlers...
It looks like a great pack for photographic walks, day trips and the like but obviously not a multi-day pack. I have quite a bit of gear dslr, lens etc and the gear pack I have has a single shoulder strap and thin waist belt. Loaded up it's a pain in the A to wear so something like this would be great. I've just ditched my faithful old pack for a new Kathmandu Vardo in their current sale - just $239! I'll be breaking it in in two weeks time and will be hanging a small photo bag off the front to see how it works for balance and pushing through the bush.

I do love the compactness of my Olympus OM-D, I reckon my entire kit takes up less room in a APS-C dSLR and a single lens..... Plus my kit has 4 lenses including a 75-300 zoom.... When size is a consideration, these same real benefits with taking a micro four thirds camera. Although I do wish it has better continuous auto focus.
