I am a passionate tramper and amateur native plant botanist and I live in Upper Hutt.I tend to mainly tramp in the Tararuas and Ruahines though i have been into other places like the Ureweras ,Whirinaki ,Tongariro national park and Nelson Lakes amongst others. My favourite hut would probably be Howletts but there are so many beautiful locations in this country its hard to be too selective. My main aim is to try and tramp in as much of NZ as i can [ dodgy knee permitting]and get to really see what we have here.I'm lucky in my job doing reserves maintenance that we get to do a lot of native plant reveg and pest plant control which keeps me fairly fit.
