A 5 bunk old style forest service hut located 2 to 3 Hrs up a steep spur from Roaring Stag Lodge.Could do with a bit of maintenance.Very impressive views but is in an exposed spot and can shake considerably in strong winds.One of my fav. Tararua huts.No fire so can get very cold.
