Norovirus heads north

You don't have to be on a cruise ship to get Norovirus. Just visit one of the more populated huts this summer... Unconfirmed reports today on FB of Norovirus-like symptoms appearing at Salisbury, Granity Pass and Gridiron rock shelters. Will create quite a mess if it reaches Abel Tasman NP! Infected people just should not be anywhere near communal kitchens as this is the prime place to catch it. Or have bad toilet hygiene. If heading into the Kahurangi NP, be on your guard and take what measures you need to, to have a safe and sick-free trip.

In the wild yes but not in the stomach
Bleach (chlorine) is the stuff to kill Norovirus if you're disinfecting surfaces / hands. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norovirus#Prevention
