I started tramping in my teen years (as a Venturer). Most of the walks I've made since career and marriage have been day trips due to commitments. But this is changing. I don't consider I have done anything very remarkable or notable in my tramping years but I'm OK with that. I'm a member of the local Tramping Club and I've enjoyed being part of the traditional and modern approaches to tramping. One of the fun things has been discovering the new lightweight gear now available… Other interests are photography, ornithology, geology, botany, outdoor gear technology, recreational mountain-biking and bike-packing. In Oct 2015 I tore my medial meniscus on Big Ben. My tramping future has a rather big question mark over it now...
