Aaron packs

Umm,what did you want them to do? Lend you one to try out? They're are commercial operation like all the other pack manufacturers. Do your research and go from there

Yes, they did used to lend out packs. I actually borrowed his packs in 2 separate years. Recently I bought one finally after cheekily tramping alongside Aarn with my own home-created version of the front pockets for a few years. They are certainly worth a try. Do you have any contacts through tramping that have got one? Of course here in Chch it can be a hotbed of Aarn pack users as the word gets round when people see how well others are going with them. The poster boy conventional pack wearer in Aarn's promo long ago converted to Aarn Packs. Perhaps that photo persuaded him!

Apparently they don't work for everyone but they sure do for me, and my wife. About the only negative is when putting them on there are rather a lot of straps and stray 'balance pockets' flailing around, getting in the way! I'm 70 and need every bit of weight saving and comfort i can find.

I emailed Aarn because their website says 'New Zealanders free trial program'. Thanks for previous link - will check it out. Have done all the measuring and style research and read testamonials but not keen to buy without seeing one and trying on with load. Shall ask if any Parawai tramping club members have one. Thanks

Please oh please correct the spelling in the thread title.... Anyhow, yes they used to do a trial programme but not any more. I'm 30 and converted to an Aarn pack last year. Absolutely love it and converted.
