DOC cut pest control funding on stewart island

It reads as if this is basically DOC trying to reshuffle its volunteer-reliant programmes so they go through its Community Fund, instead of whichever other avenues they might go through now. I get why DOC might want to shift all this type of stuff into a single place for its own bookkeeping, but it must be stupidly frustrating to be hit by this as a volunteer when it effectively means you're being suddenly being told to justify the funding for something DOC had already agreed was a good idea and was actively participating in.

even more frustrating if your funding request is denied and all your hard work becomes undone...
