Welcome fellow walkers. Here's the tentative plan. Shuffle from Nelson on February 10 to the Heaphy trailhead and a pickup on the 14th returning to Nelson. The Hollyford starts with a plane trip into Martin's Bay hut($135) Day one walking along the coast of the fjordlands, followed by five days of walking out and exploring side trails. The walk is quite easy because you are walking next to the river or the lake. There are side trips up in the glacially carved mountains to the sides. There are also splendid waterfalls in view from the trail. I would enjoy company man or woman. I am an avid hiker but enjoy the process of walking through the forest. I speed would be moderate. I will be taking a shuttle from Queenstown to the trailhead. I have a lot of information on the trail, huts and transportation. NATURE WALKER or WILL.
