Search for Map Ref on topomap.co.nz
Just to let you know...
Making life a little easier on NZ Topo Map, you can now search for NZ Topo50 map references e.g.
BX15 693 691 - http://www.topomap.co.nz/NZTopoMap?q=BX15+693+691
Great! One thing I'd love to see is clicking on a point on the map and reading off the coordinates. :)

You can open the coords tab, select a point and convert to "NZTM grid / NZTopo50 map ref".
Hopefully that's what you want.
BTW: I'm eager to get some sanity check feedback for my map refs to make sure I'm converting them correctly.
I did try to use http://www.tramper.co.nz/?view=converter for my sanity checking, but it seems to be broken at the moment :(

Yes the converter is on my to-fix list this week. Should be fixed on Wednesday.

Thanks, Gavin. This is very helpful and I definitely could have used it about a week ago rather than trying to get through the really awkward LINZ interface for converting.
I know I've asked about this ages ago, but have you given any thought to some kind of grid overlay that could imprint the map grid index onto borders of printed maps? I realise they're already along the paper-map borders, but it's normally only luck which might result in an interesting area being near enough to two official map borders.

@izogi - Sorry, really tricky one to do. It's on the list though! Just not had a great deal of time to throw at new features lately. BTW - I seem to have broken the map print functionality with the latest update - will fix tonight!

Yeah no worries and I can imagine how it'd not necessarily be a simpe thing. I figured it can't hurt to ask. :)
