First Aid
I have just spent the weekend on the Wellington branch MSC first aid course and would like to recommend it to anyone wanting a excellent grounding in outdoor first aid, tutors were excellent and teaching through real life senarios really cemented the learning. These courses fill up real fast too so book well in advance.
I am also enthusiastic in recommending this course to anyone who tramps. I do the 2 yearly revalidations and found the scenarios especially invaluable. When things have happened e.g. my partner broke his tibia, it's just like a scenario (except for the realistic writhing and shock) because you've rehearsed what to do so much.
