Ideas?

I guess the most requested addition to this site has been a discussion forum. Well here it is finally. If there's anything else you would like to see, post it here. Here are some ideas: * Uploading and sharing GPS data * Large slideshows of members' photos * Sharing of folders of photographs and other material with friends or members * Integrated relevant business advertising What else would you like to see?

I'm using firefox on Mac OSX same problem here. Not as bad with safari, no text overlapping images, but posts still not properly seperated.
Sorry about the layout problems. These are now fixed for Firefox / PC, but I haven't checked on a Mac yet.
all good here, maps kickin too! thanks
Not all good on mine. There has been something wrong with thumbnails; therefore, I can not view images on all NZ Tramper web pages inc. member page. Here are examples: NZ Tramper, home: I see no defaul image. edit your profile page, "your picture" section does not fully show the thumbnail(looks like jammed), your page, your profile section does not show the thumbnail picture, Members' photo galleries page/sect. does not show thumbnails. Photo of the day: does not show Mt Fell Hut picture. Sorry Matthew.
Hi everyone, glad to see this great website with an up-and-running forum. I'm a newbie to tramping and am looking forward to going on some great walks through NZ, especially near Tauranga, where I live. If I may, I have a couple of suggestions for the webmaster. Firstly, in my opinion the 'Forum' link should be more obvious. I almost passed up this website because I didn't think it had forum functionality. Most good community-based websites focus around their discussion forums, and I'd hate to see people leave without realising it's available. Secondly, the 'Tramping' forum should probably be at the top, and the 'Other topics' should probably be at the bottom - it would help keeps posts topical, and in the right section. That's my advice for the website. Otherwise, great community and great discussion.
Good ideas, Mike. And here is a link that may help to recover images lost on NZ Tramper pages http://www.imagerecall.com/
I agree with Mike.Gayner. The forum link is not shown on the home page, but things like tag clouds, etc, are there.
Another thing, I put in a thread and entered it before it was finished, and did it again. They were both called ATC forum. Can the first one be deleted?
Agreed. The reason the forum is rather hidden is that it is relatively new. The navigation needs to be updated to give it attention. As soon as I get a spare moment, I'll do that.
OK: my no. l wish for the site is to be able to upload vector-files for routes - so we can have not just hut points marked, but also see a route shown on the maps when we look at it. The question would be what format(s) to accept is thr problem (and the work implementing it, of course): arcinfo shapefiles for example would probably be the defacto standard for such data - but could not be created by people without GIS software. A comma-separated list of grid references would be accessible to all - and can be created from standard GIS software too. So is there anyone but me who would use this? Opinions ...
