Since 2010 moved CHCH searched for adventure with freinds and the wife. Examples:

Climbed Aspiring, Manakau and Tappy. Earnslaw, Rolleston low peak and Single cone. Dome, Mt Bowen, Mt Taylor, Mt Angelus, Mt Heim Mt Armstrong,
Garden of Eden and Allah, Coupland pass

Bought two inflatable yacht tenders - non bailing! - rafted waimak gorge, huranui from sumner to highway, waiau from engineers camp to leslie hills, rakia gorge, rangigtata grade 2 section.

bought a trailer sailor and explored te anau and pelorus sound, lake benmore and lake coleridge
Clarence river (in a proper raft)

indulged in Sport Canyons (ie normally bolted) enabled by Chuckys great guide book.
