I was trained as a petrologist/volcanologist but have diversified into all aspects of geology including forensic science, soil bioengineering, landscape evolution, and concrete assessment. I am involved in tunnel, bridge, and foundations geoengineering. I take time every year to tramp in my home country.

Comfortable hut in the Upper Caples Valley.
This hut was closed to the public in February 2014, but is now reopened and managed by the Southern Lakes Deerstalkers Association. It is available for general public use.
