11 Aug 2018 | Great first hut experience for the kids! Very popular place. The weather was stunning the entire time. Much hotter than we had expected on the way up and very cold at night, although we kept nice and toasty with the fireplace. We will definitely be visiting again! | |

22 Jul 2014 | Spent 2 nights up here while a large front dumped 30 cms of snow about the place. Able to see Mts Taranaki, Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe & Tongariro & the Kaimanawa Mtns on a clear day. Great fire. Thanks to DoC for the firewood. | |
