Rees and Dart Tracks
Well guys this is my next Tramp any info would be great IE:best time to do it,where to stay as i will have a car,etc
Lindsay
Excellent tramp. We did it in March 2005. We used Tracknet to get from QT to Glenorchy and picked up again to go back to QT.
If you start at the Rees, taking the jet boat down the lower Dart cuts out a boring half day plod down the riverbed.
A day side trip up to Cascade Saddle is well worth it. Great views.
Big new Dart Hut should solve any overcrowding problems.
What would be the best time to walk these tracks
Lindsay
Best time!
If you were to choose the road taken because it seems easiest you will not learn nearly as much as if you chose the road unknown.
I wonder if they still fly out the bridge over Snowy Ck anytime in the off-season.
