Can't login using Epiphany browser

@Matthew. Feel free to ignore this one - what % of users are visiting NZTramper on a raspberry Pi, after all.
But I am currently using one, as my PC's off on a world-tour for repair / replacement.
Using the Pi's Epiphany browser the NZ Tramper login screen (and any other pages) are displayed Ok. I enter my details, click Sign In, and am redirected to the home page. But once the menu bar refreshes itself after the page is loaded ... it still Shows 'Sign In' and I cannot post, etc.
I can login OK using Iceweasel/Firefox but as Pi users will tell you that browser is unusably slow on the Pi.
There's nothing helpful in the browser's log files for that page load.
Using Epiphany 3.8.2

Assume so as every other login works - eg mapspast which requires cookies. Will doubke check and can have another go when I get back home Monday. Canand give you a timestamp of a login attempt, if that helps. Can send you a wireshark trace too ... but I can't look at it myself without the appropriate key as its https.
Let me know if you want either of those ... otherwise I'll put up with 'click and wait' on firefox until I get my pc back.
