Solo backpackable inflatable ultralight kayak
Hi there,
I have not done swimming for a while; therefore, i am not a strong swimmer. I am trying to get fit for The Long Journey canoeing in Summer.
Speaking about tramping / bushwalking, i am put off on some tramps due to swimming across a river/s. Thinking of a single inflatable backpackable lightweight kayak, i would seek advice on what kayak model/s is/are OK for wilderness rivers and low-level rapids.

Hi,
with a whitewater kayaking background, I'd just like to say that it is a very good idea to up your swimming skills, maybe even learn some basics about self-rescue in swift water with a whitewater club, and certainly make sure you are equipped to survive in case you fall into water that you deem too cold to swim.
All of this will help to ensure that you come back safely.
Cheers,
Matt
