Has anyone done this? Any areas of heightened hazard? Avalanche paths? Etc, etc.

see how much snow is left after tomorrows rain storm http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11480897
Went in from whakapapa village, on new snow. We were the only ones arriving, every one else was leaving. Came out via the bruce road and boot skiied back down the (closed) ski road. Wasnt long after that we bought snow shoes.
And, while we are on this topic, anyone pondering walking any of the egmont high routes, we did the lake dive circuit from Dawson Falls yesterday, and its definately snow shoe country at present. http://zoneblue.org/images/IMG_4070.jpg http://zoneblue.org/images/IMG_4064.jpg http://zoneblue.org/images/IMG_4068.jpg
Oh, and talking of signs, Doc has this sign up at the start of lower lake dive track saying that the track is overgrown, and may make navigation difficult. It appears the local Doc offices cant afford to maintain their tracks with all the budget cuts.
