Hoping to go to IronBark hut Ruahines next weekend
Across the Farmland
Anyone been lately
What is the condition of the track and hut

You either have to walk via Otukota or you can get permission via farmer to go direct via his secret route. Which way did you go, did you get out to Lake Colenso because that is a better place to visit than just Iron Bark and Otukota!
yea wnet in over the private land follwed track for about 30 min then sidled around a bloody big ridge and followed down a spur and met up with the track to ironbark.
weather good untill it stared pouring down on sat so didnt go to colenso.
Sunday same way out but it satrted a blizzard with knee deep snow
good way to end the trip
