Snow on the Ruahines

There is very little up there at the moment due to melt and rain. although patchy it was a bit icey up on the Ngamoko Range and a bit hairy without crampons or ice axe! Top Maropea is only a flatish climb up to Armstrong then a wee steep one onto the highest point then along flat again then down the back, less than an hour I think I recall going the other way. adding new pictures and story from the last weekends tramp into the Ruahines.
