Access to huts/tramps

Please excuse my ignorance, but with the tramps that you cant 'book a bunk' as such online via DOC, are these convered by the back country pass?
Most other huts and campsites are covered by an annual hut pass or backcountry hut tickets. "Alpine" huts aren't covered, nor are huts on private walks (Banks Peninsula, Kaikoura track, HumpRidge etc), and some others eg Queen Charlotte campsites aren't covered. If unsure about a particular track ask the local DOC office.
