Coromandel Range and north of Karangahake Gorge

Does anyone have any tips on this area. I have done the Pinnicles Hut track. I would like to get to use the tent and go nowhere near a hut. This range seems like the place. Any suggestions would be appreciated, I do not mind what condition the track is in. Just want to know I can find a clearing with water supply nearby.
Try Moss creek Same area a bit overgrown and unfortunately you get to pass pinnacles hut on the way out but you could spend a day on tabletop good views of thames estuary from up there in places.
