Lewis Tops

We walked over Lewis Tops last weekend. Superb tramp. We followed the route suggested in South Island Weekend Tramps. Mostly accurate about the route but he seriously understated the difficulty of the ridge above Brass Monkey Biv. You need a good head for heights, good balance, some climbing knowledge would be an advantage, and a great deal of bravery.
I am new to this site but am planning a trip from Lewis Pass to Otira via the tops. I have previously been through the harper pass route.
Have you or any one done the route over the tops?? would be keen on your/their views of it
