Mt Winterslow - Pinnacles Hut - Mt Somers
I'm looking an overnighter next week that would include a traverse of Mt Winterslow with a night at Pinnacles Hut and then return to Sharplin Falls car park via a traverse of Mt Somers - or vice versa. Any significant reason I should do this one way versus the other? Cheers.
Responding to my own question... Better to do the trip in the order indicated. Mt Somers could easily be done either way but the descent from Mt Winterslow to Pinnacles Hut is better done as just that, a descent. Not only would portions of the accent be a royal slog, it might be a bit difficult to find the toe of the correct ridge.
Yup, that's generally the way it's done. Good call.
