The Landsborough and the Karangarua Saddle

Can anyone please provide any first-hand knowledge of the routes out of the head of the Landsborough. The route over the Scissors looks too technical for my group so we would give consideration to Douglas Pass or Karangarua Saddle. Moirs describes the Douglas Pass route in some detail but only mentions the Karangarua Saddle in passing. Thanks.

Teapot, see the 2003 volume of the NZAC Journal - pp. 36-40. We describe a trip up the Landsborough over Douglas Pass and round the TR of Lake Douglas on a high sidle above the bluffs. Harper Rock Biv is a magic spot few people visit. It is worth it. We then went up over the Sierra Range to Welcome Pass and down Scott Creek to Copland. The latter variant, however, is strictly an alpine traverse.
