17 Day Trek to Everest Base Camp
Hi All, i am new to the group and was wondering if any one has done the Nepal base camp trek? My partner and i are doing it in april 2013 and was wanting to know what eqiupment to bring or not bring?
I have never done a trek out of the country and we are unsure of even what type of pack to take?
Any help would be great!
Thanks Mike.
Take really warm gear, puffer jacket, hat, cloves, thermals, waterproof jacket & Over Trou. especially for the higher altitude, it can turn really cold.
Most people have porters to carry their gear but you'll need a small pack.
Definitively good tramping boots needed.
Most people have a walking pole, but leave your iceaxe and crampons behind unless you plan to climb one of the peaks such as Island Peak.
Everest Base Camp is a bit of a tourist hike these days, but fewer people the higher you go and Rhododendrons should be blooming at that time of year.
Enjoy, those mountains are awesome.
