Weekend trips

Hi all, I just arrived in the North Island few days ago and I'm really fiding some difficult to reach people who would like to go outside for a walk during the weekends. I'm living in Mount Maunganui but I can take a bus and meet you mates anywhere in North Island I think. Does anyone to share some experience and willing to start a new outdoor friendship? Hi Renato, I arrived in NZ a year ago and I'm always happy to find hiking/tramping buddies. I'm based in Wellington and usually interested in weekend trips, but every now and then also longer ones. I'm also into skiing, so let me know if interested in that as well. Right now I have the Tongariro alpine crossing on my radar - would like to experience it in its full winter beauty.
