Suitable Winter Tracks in Canterbury Eegion

Hi there, I'm looking for 1-3 night, 2-4 day routes in the South Island that would be suitable despite the recent snow. I'm based in Christchurch, and preferably don't want to travel more than ~3 hours each way to get there. I don't have alpine equiptment fwiw. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thanks
The Casey-Binser route has been a favourite 3-4 day trip of mine during winter. It's a pleasant day's walk through the Andrews Stream track to Casey Hut. Day 2 you could push through to the new Poulter Hut, with a side extension to Lake Minchin (my teenage daughter and friends had a mid-winter swim amidst the ice here a year or so ago on a winter trip). Day 3 back to Casey. Day 4 home via the Poulter Valley and the Binser Saddle. What I like about it (for winter) is that there is plenty of open valley time which makes it sunny, and the huts are warm with good fires. The recent snow though was very heavy - I'd be seeking advice from Doc about track conditions. It's likely that there was some damage.
Thanks for your reply robhoult, I'll check it out. It looks like a fun route!
