Urchin track, Kaimanawa road entrance
hi there, i was wondering if anyone knows how long roughly doesmit take to get from the start of the Urchin track, Kaimanawa road end to the part of the track that cuts off the western part of the ridge to the Waipakihi river flats. Cheers
Urchin Road end carpark (off Kaimanawa Road) to Waipakihi River - 3 hours (approx)
Awesome, thank you. If you have walked to the hut from the bottom of the urchin trackmhat comes off the tops, or have walked back down waipakihi river to waipakihi road entrance can you please tell me roughly times for both. Thanks again!!
bottom of urchin (urchin campsite) up river to hut 4 - 6 hours
out to road end approx 4 hours - nice in summer :)
Yeah i went in from waipakihi road anout 4 hours in and camped in the bush last weekend, was awesome. I heard that it was beautiful further up and a good walk in and out. People have told me that there are plenty of deer to see on the river flats too....have you seen many?
