any easy access natural hot spring in SI?
any easy access natural hot spring between Hanmer & St James walkway maybe? 3-5 hr tramp on way.

there are some hot springs up the hope river (near Boyle river) - might be a bit longer than 5 hours one way though.

Try Sylvia Flats hot pools. There is a rest area on the L heading towards the St James. Just past the Nina track turn off. About a 5 min walk from the road
The hot springs up the Hope valley are up past top Hope hut and too far unless you are on M Bike.
