Zampa Tops tarn

Can anyone give me an idea how reliable the tarn at Zampa Tops (Lewis Pass) is as a source of water? Does it dry up? Planning to head there next week to camp.
Two years later we finally got up there! First time we intended leaving Chch on 23 Feb 2011 - then the earthquake happened. Second attempt March 2012, bad weather and couldn't get up to the tops. Made it last week, amazing spot, and the tarn is quite deep - I can't see it drying up.
I'm thinking of doing this trip in March. How long did it take you?
Took us 5 hours from the Lewis Pass carpark, along the route described in Sven Brabyn's "Tramping in the South Island." We are pretty much newbies to off track / tops travel, so if you are experienced I'm sure you could do it in less. From the tarn up to the ridgeline, north along the ridge and down to Ada Pass Hut took us 6 hours including a lunch break and many photo stops!
Thanks! The Mt Travers route just next door is also a nice one.
