Any Otago locals keen for tramping?

If you're in the vicinity of Dunedin I can really recommend the Silverpeaks (Jubilee Hut) Circuit. This tramp has certainly had a revamp after all the bad press it got a couple of years back. Jubilee Hut near new. Choose a pretty good two day weather window as day one views out over the Taieri and Rock and Pillar range are superb. Also, should you get heavy rain at Jubilee Hut overnight it might be advisable to return the way you came in as the Waikouaiti River may present a problem right near the finish. But hey, in ideal conditions this is now a great trip. No fire in the hut. I guess because this tramp is essentially a summer expedition. Also, fabulous camp sites below hut alongside stream.
