Fiery Peak to Alabaster Hut

Hello
I'm looking to go from the eastern side of Alabaster Pass (just north of Fiery Peak) to Alabaster Hut.
It looks like going over Alabaster Pass and then getting from Alabaster Creek to Alabaster Hut is pretty slow going because you've got to wade through Lake Alabaster.
Do you know if it's possible to head south west from Alabaster Pass and go along the ridge/peaks of Courtenay Peak and Welshman Peak and then head west down Grebe Creek to Lake Alabaster Hut?
