Cookies Hut Hakatere

Does anyone know the origin of this hut's name?. My father tramped and climbed in the Ashburton area and was involved with the building of a number of huts. Not aware of this one though. His nickname was Cookie. Name Allan Cookson born Ashburton 1913.
There's Cookies Point down the valley too and then Cookshop Hut in Taylor Stream, only 7km away and Cookies Basins on the way to Black Hill. We went this way from Cookies Hut to the 'A' Frame Hut one Easter.
