Mountain Warehouse quality

Has anyone bought gear from Mountain Warehouse? How did it hold up? *Looking to buy a new pair of mid-height lightweight boots to replace my destroyed Salomons for the Te Araroa - open to suggestions*
Observationally their gear looks pretty low-mid range - Kathmandu esque. I have a pair of basic polyester hiking trousers from there which are great (they were like £8). My impression from looking at their kit, and based on their reputation they had when I lived in the UK - i would be wary of quality on more complex equipment (like shoes, packs etc) where mediocre design and cheap materials are more likely to be problems than a pair of baggy trousers. But shoes are so personal. If they fit you well, they’ll be a better shoe for you than something 4x the price if that doesn’t fit perfectly.
Ive got a cycling jacket and a couple of shirts. The jacket didnt have a rating but the fabric held up in a 1 hour rainy ride. Pity there is no protection over the zip so still got wet. All the boots I looked at were very flexible. Look well made but only suitable for good condition tracks.
I believe my brother has bought some boots of these guys. Going to go for a trip with him in the Kaikouras in a few weeks so will report back how they hold up (or don't hold up...).
