New book covering Tararua Tramping Club centenary
Thought I might mention Kim Hill interviewed Shaun Barnett and Chris MacLean on RNZ on June 29th regarding their new book 'Leading The Way'. This publication marks the centenary of the Tararua Tramping Club, and being the first such club in New Zealand, the yarns are quite interesting. Like how the sky didn't fall the first time female members were out all night without a chaperone... https://www.rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/saturday/audio/2018701913/shaun-barnett-and-chris-maclean-nz-s-first-tramping-club
I subsequently discovered the authors are giving a talk about their project at the National Library at lunchtime tomorrow (Wed). https://www.gleanreport.com/events/shaun-barnett-and-chris-maclean/
thanks for the link. I caught a bit of the interview and it was really entertaining.
