Walk the South Island

I'm looking to walk the South Island from North to South, just wondering if anyone else has done similar and what existing routes there are? Any help will be gratefully received.
Yep. Walked Picton to Aspiring. Still have the last bit to finish! Times below are mine. Your results may vary! Picton to St Arnaud along the backbone of the Richmond Ranges. About 10 days. Covered in: http://www.tramper.co.nz/?1960 http://www.tramper.co.nz/?1943 St Arnaud to Lewis Pass Summit (5 days): http://www.tramper.co.nz/?1962 Lewis Pass to Otira (Arthurs Pass) - 5 days: -> *Nina Hut (Nina) -> Devilskin Biv (Doubtfull) -> *Lake Mann Pass / Lake Mann Buiv -> St Jacob's Hut (Hope) -> Hope Kiwi Hut (kiwi) -> *Hurunui Hut -> Otira via Harper Pass covered in: http://www.tramper.co.nz/?16 Stayed 1 night at No 4 Hut. Orita - Mt Cook village (14 days. Took 176 as laid up ill at Frew for 3 days) Kellys Shelter -> Carroll Hut -> Dillons Hut (Taipo) -> *Dunns Creek Hut -> Newton Creek Hut -> *Mudflats Hut (Arahura) -> Grassy flats hut (Styx) -> Browning Range Biv (Lathrop Saddle) -> *Upper Crawford Biv (Crawford) -> Upper Crawford Hut -> Crawford Junction Huts -> *Top Kokatahi Hut (Kokatahi) -> Toaroa Saddle Biv -> *Poets Hut (Mungo / hokitika) -> Frew Saddle Biv -> *Frew Hut (Whitcombe) -> Prices Flat Hut -> *Neave Hut -> Lathrop Biv (Raikaia) -> *Reischek Hut (NZDA) -> *Lawrence Biv (lawrence) -> Lawrence Hut (Clyde) -> *Growler Hut (Havelock) -> *Macaulay Hut (Macaulay) -> *Rankin Hut (private) Godley -> *Liebig Hut (Murchinson) -> Mt Cook Village Mt Cook Village to Makarora (Jamieson Saddle) -> *Reardon Hut (Donson) -> Waterfall Hut -> Kennedy Hut -> *Le Crens Hut (private) -> Sth Temple Hut (Sth Temple) -> *Shamrock Hut (Ahuriri) via Watson Stream -> *Scrubby Hut (Hunter) via Little Canyon -> *Makarora Hut (Makarora) via Scrubby Stream -> Makarora township Had planned on staying closer to the ranges: Le Crens -> Muxley Forks -> Sth Huxley -> Hunter -> Makarora. But bad wx changed plans. Makarora -> Aspiring Via Rabbit Pass. 3 days This was all walked as one trip 48 days, rest days included. From Aspiring onwards, had 2 plans. Easy (walked nearly all this on other occasions): Cascade Saddle -> Rees/Dart Scott Saddle -> Caples Mavora lakes track -> (Ukokerora) -> Army Hut -> Te Anau yownship -> Manapouri township -> Monowai -> Tutuwai -> Sth Coast via Hump Track Interesting: Cascade Routeburn 'Wrong side of lake te anau'. About 18 days. Have a route, all covered in Moirs. But not got there yet! -> Doubtful Sound road. Then on down to West Cape. This was covered in a past issue of the Wilderness Magazine. can't remember which one. Bust basically go to Lake Roe via Dusky Track then stay on the tops all the way to West Cape. Know Andrew Barker is working on an end-to-end trip in shorter stages. http://andrewbarkersoutherntraverse.blogspot.com/
See the huts mentioned above details of the routes between them
