Controls to input markdown syntax

@Matthew I have an idea - Most people on here dont actually use the markdown properly when using links, quotes, bold text etc... My guess is because you have to refer to the guide. It would be easier if there were a set of controls that input the mark down automatically. For example having buttons 'Link', 'Qutoe', 'Bold' etc.. in place of the link to the markdown guide which would automatically input the associated markdown syntax.
I have often looked at that and wondered what the markdown was, but never quite figured it out, still haven't, so never used it. What exactly does it do?
So markdown is a style of syntax used to make formatting of text more presentable. As an example, if you wanted to post a link, instead of displaying the entire link ( you can use the markdown syntax to format the link into a clickable text, [click here]( Or quotes, instead of using "example quote" you can make it more presentable like this > example quote There are alot of other things you can do with markdown such as: **bold text** bulleted list * 1 * 2 The markdown guide here only shows a few things. Here is a [cheat sheet]( that covers the syntax Here is a [cheat sheet]( if you want to know more.
@fdi4r978fg Thank you, very helpful information. Just goes to show you are never too old to learn something new every day.
Agreed. Some buttons would be great. I'll get that on the list.
