From Matahi Valley Rd, there are 2 tracks: via Pohatu Stream (5-7 hrs) or from Olgilvie bridge (5-6 hrs). Alternatively, access from Ruatoki Valley Rd end on the Whakatane river (5-7 hrs) via Ohora Hut. Note: the track from Olgilvie bridge has bait stations marked with yellow & pink triangles, not to be confused with orange/white track markers. |
