Pourangaki Hut

Pouragaki Hut (8-bunk, stove, tank water) is a warm, sheltered hut in a north-facing grassy basin above the Pourangaki River, Ruahine Ranges. There are 8 matresses on two platforms.
A valley floor location, unobstructed by trees, and with all-day sunshine it's a toasty spot. The hut lies 50m below the main Pourangaki high-point to Hikurangi range track. It's about 300m from the main river - a track leads from the river to the hut, starting upriver of the swingbridge.
