Coppermine Creek hut
This is the southern most of the three huts on the Haast - Paringa Cattle Track. It is 1.5 hrs walk along a 4 x 4 track from the main road to the hut. You can deviate along river bed & flats if you don't like the idea of walking on a vehicle track.

Getting there
|
1/From the TL (south) side of the Waita River bridge on the Haast Highway. Take the gated 4 x 4 track that starts 100m+ south of the bridge on the inland side of the road. It is a little obscure starting in a patch of solid looking bush if drive too quickly. 2/From the other direction on the "Cattle Track"; Maori Saddle or Blue River (Blowfly) huts. |
