Buckland Peak hut

Situated just above the bush line in the headwaters of Omanu Creek in the NW corner of the Paparoa Range near Westport. This is a newish DOC hut that replaced a Venturer Scout hut.

Signposted from the Buller Gorge Road (SH6) just over 1km East from the junction with the Coast Road. You can drive a short distance to a carpark then the road is blocked by a padlocked chain. A mountain bike would be useful at this stage as there are several km's of road to negotiate before the start of the track proper at the base of a spur running up to the Paparoa Range.
