Flora Hut
Kahurangi National Park
An old hut in a large clearing 35 minutes from Flora Carpark, built around the 1920s. It is seldom stayed in, due to its close proximity to the carpark, and nicer huts like Mt Arthur and Salisbury. The large grassy slope behind the hut is good for tobogganing in winter.
Edwards Store was here in the 1870s gold rush, but had disappeared by 1880 when Bishop Suter passed through Dutton's Track, over Gordons Pyramid to the Tablelands.
