Herepai Hut
Tararua Forest Park
An older huts lower than the bush line. It has a cast-iron fire, two platforms for sleeping quarter. It holds around 10 people.
Basic but nice.
Its a fairly easy walk to the hut which takes around 3-5 hours depending on the fitness levels in the party.

Is from the end of Mangatainoka valley road near Eketahuna. Half the track is the same as the one going to Roaring Stag Lodge. |
