A control operation targeting wild goats will start Wednesday 8 May in Abel Tasman National Park and Pikikirunga Range.  The operation is weather dependant and will be completed by Sunday 19 May.

This operation will be in parts of Abel Tasman National Park. These areas include Wainui River, Awapoto River and Awaroa River, Gorge Creek and Scott Creek catchments. Parts of the Pikikirunga Range Scenic Reserves are also included (Lower and Upper Rosser Blocks and Takaka Hill Scenic Reserve). 

No control (hunting) will be carried out close to any walking tracks, huts or campsites but the helicopter may be operating overhead of these facilities.

Tracks will not be closed. Signs will be present at main track entrances before the operation starts.
