GPS Newbie Questions
I'm having trouble understanding how I can use my gps to indicate my position on a paper map. I tried to set the user grid as suggested on this site but none of my waypoints give a reading; just USR_________

It also happened to my early model Etrex (without h/high sensitive). It was totally soaked and nearly dead. But, it's fine now. I tried to dry it out with sunlight and by leaving it close to the PC power supply... The key is patience.
Yes, I think I might have saved mine if I had removed the batteries immediately and dried it thoughrily. It went for a while and then started to do funny things and died. It was replaced under warrenty however, they agreed that it should have survived the short dunking it got.
